I have Oracle 8 (double byte capable) database. OS is meant for English. I need to import data from another database that too is double byte capable. Source database has data in different languages like Korean, Japanese, English etc. I created a database link and imported the data. But the data gets corrupted. It no longer reamins in native language.
Do we need to set some thing before export ?
Thanks,

You need to check that both databases have been created with the same character set. You can check the NLS language and character settings by quering the table sys.props$.
You also need to check that the front-end tool you are using to move the data is also using this character set. For SQL*Plus, this is likely to be determined by an environment variable (or registry setting if your using NT) called NLS_LANG.
